About Us

Greetings, my name is Tanika Forestal and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I started this blog with my Husband, E.L. Forestal (That’s us on the left) because we saw a need to connect black couples with professional black therapist in their city, state or even through the internet (Click Here to Browse Local Therapist).

If you are a licensed professional therapist, please add your practice here so local customers can find you. We are usually positioned at the very top of all the major search engines so expect quality leads.

More about me: I usually write about problems facing couples and women, while my husband usually blog about guy stuff like 8 Ways to Make Your Wife Feel Special and 10 Reasons Why Good Men Don’t  Cheat.

He even answered one of the most commonly asked questions for our female readers in How To Talk To Your Man So He’ll Listen.

We live in  Indiana with our two children, Destiny and Gabriel. We’ve been married for over 10 years, and what experience has taught us is both partners have to be “all in” in order for a marriage to prosper.

I write blog posts, ebooks and informative videos on relationships, and even had articles featured in Ebony and Essence Magazine about my Live Video Coaching Program For Married Couples.

What’s This Blog All About?

This blog is all about empowering married couples. I cover specific tell-tale signs that your relationship may need a lifeline in, 5 Reasons to Seek Marriage Counseling. I also post on more creative content, like 8 incredibly Cheap Date Ideas. You’ll also find me blogging about more problematic and crisis orientated topics like How To Survive an Affair.

One of the two biggest questions that comes to the surface when I’m working with couples is “How to stop the constant fighting, and how to improve our communications?”

If that’s something you’re struggling with, I’ve written an article on this very topic called Techniques for Fighting Fair: Two Communication Changes You Can Make Now.

If there’s a particular question, topic or problem you want me to tackle either here on this blog or even on your blog as a guest, just let me know. (Email me by filling out the contact form below)

My Education

As mentioned previously, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Indiana. I provide therapeutic and coaching services to families, couples, adults and individuals. I provides direction and assistance with overcoming relationship issues.

I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Art in Marriage and Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary.

If you are out of state and you would like to set up an appointment with me via live face-to-face video conferencing (fill out the form here). Video conferencing is super easy to setup and is great on any mobile device, laptop or tablet.

Service That I Provide

I love working with couples to help them take their relationship to the next level. My client list has included athletes, college students, single moms, and couples who are on the brink of divorce. So if you’re looking for a marriage counselor, and you live near me fill out the form below.

I provide relationship coaching for out of state clients in which I deal with extensive and complex issues. This is not therapy; it is a paid consultation/coaching on a case-by-case basis for 50 minutes at a time. Please indicate if this is your preference in the form below.

Another option is a dating coach, which includes coaching on how to meet and connect with people, and start and maintain successful and meaningful relationships.  Here recently, I wrote an interesting article on How to Meet Black Christian Singles so go check it out.
